Dwain T. McKnight

In Memorial

Dwain T. McKnight, 65, of Fremont, OH passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on June 9, 1949 in Cleveland, OH, the son of James E. and Ann M. (Atherton) McKnight. He attended Technical College in Springfield, OH.

Dwain served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Dwain married Paula Dewey on April 27, 1984 in Clyde, OH and she survives. He was a Truck Driver for various companies since 1973 and retired in 2008. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and working and playing on computers.

Dwain is survived by his wife of thirty years, Paula McKnight, Fremont, OH; children, John (Rose) McKnight, Fremont, OH, Kim (Eric) Shively and Tonya McKnight both of Springfield, OH; five grandchildren; special friends, Chad Taylor, Fremont, OH and Santos Salim and family of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A Private Graveside Service will take place at a later date.

    i am so sorry to hear about the sudden passing of Dwain. My daughters, Tonya and Kim, had a wonderful father for their young years. Sorry for his sister,Teresa and bother David that will cherish his memory and their years together. Dwain, you are with our son, William Thomas McKnight, now and enjoy seeing him again!! We are all glad you are in a better place, peaceful and free of pain!!

    He was also preceded in death by his infant son, William (Billie) Thomas McKnight.

    As a younger brother of Dwain, I know he will be greatly missed. I will miss his stories and I loved it when I got to see him play the drums. But life moves on and I believe Dwain would want us to celebrate his life.
