
Don Stotz, 81, passed away peacefully at Elmwood Skilled Nursing of Fremont surrounded by his family on April 6, 2021. He was born on August 15, 1939, in Fremont, Ohio to Richard P. and Rosalin M. (Haslinger) Stotz. Don was a 1957 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Dee Ann Rich on June 6, 1959. He served in the Military with the Ohio National Guard from 1959 to 1965
Don was a mechanical contractor and worked for The T.O. Murphy Company for many years where he was part owner. He also served as president of the Mechanical Contractors Association of Northwestern Ohio from 1987 through 1989. Later, Don worked as an estimator for Warner Mechanical Corporation.
Don was an avid golfer and shared his passion with his family and friends. He was a member of Sycamore Hills Golf Club, the Fremont Country Club and, after retirement, worked at River Cliff golf course which he enjoyed for several years. Don’s greatest joy, however, was spending time with his wife of 61 years and his family.
Don is survived by his wife, Dee Ann Stotz, children; Deb (Jim) Zimmerman, Fremont, OH; Shari (Doug) Mehling, Fremont, OH; Jodi Stotz (Matthew Schnell), Perrysburg, OH; Donny Stotz, Dublin, OH. Also surviving are his grandchildren; James McKinney, Kyle Mehling, Kelli Mehling, Kris Busack, Conner Busack, and Maxwell Stotz; and siblings; Mary Powers, Lansing, MI; Tony (Barb) Stotz, Fremont, OH; Kris (Betsy) Stotz Hudson, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; David P. Stotz and Timothy L. Stotz.
Visitation: Monday, April 12, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory, 425 E. State Street, Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 550 Smith Road, Fremont, OH, with Fr. Krzysztof Kardzis and Fr. Frank Kehres officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
Memorials: Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Sandusky County.
