Dennis Stanley Skeel
Dennis Stanley Skeel, 71, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Advanced Specialty Hospitals of Toledo. He was born June 23, 1948 in Erie, PA to Stanley and Isabel (Dorman) Skeel. He was a 1966 graduate of Green Springs High School and received a Jr. Accounting Degree from Stautzenberger Business College in 1969.
Dennis served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He married Sheila Dilday on September 21, 1971 at Anderson Air Force Base in Guam, M.I. and she survives.
Dennis began as a press operator and ended in preliminary as a type setter at Moore Business Forms from 1973 to 1994 when the company closed. He then worked at Walmart until he retired. Dennis attended the United Methodist Church in Clyde, OH and enjoyed cooking, playing the piano, watching Fox News and spending time with family and friends. He loved his fur baby, Millie.
Dennis is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Sheila Skeel, Fremont, OH, daughters, Joann (Keith) Missler, Dallas, OR and Laura Kadlubowski, Monclova, OH; grandchildren, Michaela (Loren) Ionita, Alexandra Kadlubowski, Marissa Missler, Krystopher Missler and Lily Kadlubowski; siblings, Patti (John) Olenik and Gary (Phyllis) Skeel both of Florida, Bryon Skeel, Green Springs, OH; sisters-in-law, Joann Skeel and Willavene Skeel both of Pennsylvania, Sharon Skeel, Tiffin, OH and many more beloved family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Richard “Dick”, Larry and Douglas Skeel.
Visitation: Sunday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Monday, January 6, 2020, 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Military Honors provided by the Fremont VFW. Pastor Scott Mauch will officiate.
Memorials can be made to the Cherry Street Mission in Toledo, OH, Salvation Army or Donor’s Choice.
