
Dennis “Hot Ott” J. Ottney, 59 of Fremont, OH passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Bellevue Hospital. He was born on March 11, 1959 in Fremont, OH to Dennis L. and Mary Ann (Strausbaugh) Ottney.
Dennis married Kim Wood on October 30, 1976 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fremont, OH and she survives. He was a press operator for Whirlpool for thirty years before he retired. Dennis was very involved with the local live music scene. He enjoyed going to the races with his family. Being creative, making many things and tinkering was a big part of his life but above all, he was a family man.
Dennis is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Kim Ottney; sons, Justin (Francine Eversole) Ottney, Findlay, OH, Shane Ottney, Fremont, OH; siblings, Danny (Rhonda) Ottney, Mark (Emily) Ottney, both of Fremont, OH, Marty Ottney, Michelle (John) Franz, both of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Cassandrah, Tyler, Shane, Autumn Ottney and Breanna Lee; great granddaughter, Scarlett Ottney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Travis Ottney and his brother, Tony Ottney.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with his service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Certified Funeral Celebrant Susann Robitski Zimmerman will be officiating.
Memorials can be made in his honor to the family.

Omg we had so much fun at WHIRLPOOL back in th 80s 90s. Specialy when we packed up are boys and took of on Friday 2 Attica then fremont. All the speedweeks and Eldora lol I use 2 sneak up on him at work when he was grinding a bad spot out of a basket and scare him untill one time he hit me with the grinder lol And I can’t think of the WUZZ BAND AND NOT THINK OF YOU MY FRIEND JUST SEEN YOU WALKING YOUR DOG CPL MNTH AGO AND THOUGHT U LOOKED GREAT..KIM I WISH I WOULD HAVE KEPT IN TOUCH WITH U GUY’S TAKE CARE KIM AND BOYS WILL B THINKING OF YOU
