David E. Setzler
David Eugene Setzler, 64, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away on January 7, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. He was born on March 20, 1957 in Monroe, MI the son of Ralph and Jean (Armstrong) Setzler. He was a 1975 graduate of Ida High School in Ida, MI. He then received his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo in 1982.
David married Patricia Chaney on July 12, 1980 in Indianapolis, IN and she survives. He was a computer engineer at Davis Bessie from 1982 until he retired in 2018. He was a member of the Fremont Church of the Nazarene and played in the praise band at every church he was ever a member of. He also played with the Gypsum Crossing Blue Grass Group and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. David enjoyed camping, making origami art out of $1 bills and playing softball in church leagues.
David is survived by his wife of forty-one years, Patricia Setzler, Oak Harbor; Amy (Justin) Baird, Brownsburg, IN, Bethany (Michael) Fischer, Jerome, MI, Caryn (Brian) Sandwisch, Defiance, OH and Dayna (Cadan) Goldstein, Bellefontaine, OH; grandchildren, Elyse, Foster and Gretchyn Baird, Lydia H. and Keziah Fischer and Ilayna and Jaylin Goldstein; parents, Ralph and Jean Setzler, LaSalle, MI; siblings, James (Donna), Aaron (Robin), Randy (Joni) and Daryl (Heide) Setzler all of LaSalle, MI; sister-in-law, Maria Setzler, Detroit and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Setzler.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Fremont Church of the Nazarene, 1925 N. Fifth St., Fremont, OH.
A celebration of life ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of gathering prior to the service at the church.
