
Curtis Jay Anstead, Sr., 81, of Green Springs, OH passed away at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. He was born on September 5, 1939 in Fremont, OH to Leward and Helen (Hetrick) Anstead. Curtis married Kathryn Hammer on December 5, 1964 in Monroe, MI. He worked for Miller Pipeline as a superintendent for forty-four years and retired in 2002. He was also the owner and operator of Anstead Body Shop. Curtis was a member of Grace Community Church and enjoyed gardening, restoring cars, helping people and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Curtis is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Kathryn Anstead, Green Springs, OH; children, Barb (Dave) Setzler, Clyde, OH, Brenda (Mark) Salyer, Curtis “CJ” (Bobbie Jo) Anstead, Robert (Robin) Anstead, Sr., all of Green Springs, OH, Jason (Kristy) Anstead, Fremont, OH; siblings, Calvin (Gladys) Anstead and Diane Linder both of Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Nathan (Lauren) Setzler, Brianne Smith, Bridgette Setzler, Melissa (Luke) Hohenstein, Katie (Nick) Wax, Andrew (Maryssa) Lewis, Hannah (Dan) Vazquez, Jenna (Tyler) Vaughan, Kendra Lewis, Christopher, Dalton (Zella), Emily, Mekhi and NaKyah Anstead, Robert Anstead, Jr., Jonathan and Rachel Anstead, Dustin Yates, Skylar Anstead and Jason Anstead, Jr.; fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Curtis J. Anstead III; siblings, William, Don, Ed and Denny Anstead.
Visitation: Sunday from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 211 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, OH.
Services: Monday, August 2, 2021, 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Memorials: ProMedica Dorothy Kern Cancer Center or Stein Hospice
