Clyde J. Strausbaugh
Clyde J. Strausbaugh, 83, of Fremont, OH passed away at his home on Friday, February 07, 2014. He was born July 23, 1930 in Arcadia, OH to Clyde V. and Ethel (Carter) Strausbaugh.
Clyde served in the U.S. Army during WWII from August 20, 1946 to January 9, 1948 and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. He re-enlisted in the U.S. Army from November 13, 1950 to October 25, 1951. Clyde then served in the U.S. Air Force from May 13, 1957 to November 15, 1957.
He married Shirley Price on November 4, 1964 and she survives. Clyde worked for N & W Railroad as a Chief Clerk for thirty-three years and retired in 1987. He was a member of Vineyard Church in Fremont and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed collecting and repairing antique glass.
Clyde is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley Strausbaugh, Fremont, OH; son, Jay Strausbaugh, Camden, MI; step sons, James R. (Penny) Finn, Clyde, OH, Michael (Jennifer) Finn, Wapakoneta, OH; sister, Billie Leathers, Bloomdale, OH; grandchildren, Cain J. Strausbaugh, McKenna L. Strausbaugh; five step grandchildren and four step great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation: Tuesday from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Deacon Robert Chrisman officiating.
Burial: Seneca Memory Gardens, Tiffin, OH.
