
Christopher Jay Potts, 60, of Helena, OH, unexpectedly passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, OH. He was born on May 17, 1955 in Toledo, OH to Franklin W. and Dorothea (Parker) Potts. Chris was a 1973 graduate of Bowsher High School.
Chris married Rita Schade on August 19, 1988 in Helena, OH and she survives. He was currently at Formetal Inc. in Oak Harbor, OH as a Plant Engineer for twelve years and previously worked at Brush Wellman. Chris was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 1915. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering with cars and spending time with his family.
Chris is survived by his wife of twenty-seven years, Rita Potts, Helena, OH; sons, Brad Potts, Toledo, OH, David (Linda) Potts, Waterville, OH; grandson, Connor Potts; father Franklin W. Potts; sister, Ellen J. Walston, both of Pemberville, OH and former wife, Denise Potts, Toledo, OH.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothea Potts.
Visitation: Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, OH 43420.
Service: Friday, January 29, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Carman officiating.
Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
