
Charles J. Rambo, 93, formerly of Fremont and Bettsville, OH passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Ottawa Riverview Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor, OH. He was born on September 20, 1923 in Crooksville, OH to Charles C. and Lucille (Harris) Rambo.
Charles married Marjorie A. Smith on April 11, 1943 in Oak Harbor and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2004. He served in the US Army during WWII from 1943 – 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart, EAME Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, American Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
Charles was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Fremont and Tiffin, OH. He enjoyed spending time with his family and taking them to public parks.
Charles is survived by his children, Keith (Alma) Rambo, Toledo, OH, Kathleen (Robert) Kaiser, Tiffin, OH, Janet Mitchell, Sandusky, OH, Joyce Huber, Maumee, OH, David (Dawn) Rambo, Charenton, LA; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie A. Rambo.
A memorial service will take place on April 12, 2017; 2:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH with Dennis Bork officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service.
Burial will be private at a later date.

Our neighbor growing up on Everett Rd was a kind gentleman who always had a clever and humorous story to tell. There are many good memories from those days. It was a good life then and Charles and family were a pleasant part of that experience.
