To the Wife, Children, Mother, Sister Ruby Tiller, Siblings and extended family, know that I extend my condolences and I am praying for you, and with you in the “Homegoing” of your “beloved” Chucky Tiller. As I read his obituary, it brought joy in knowing that he was rooted and grounded in the Lord, that there was no mistake or confusion about where he would spend eternity. Oh what peace for the family to know that he had already prepared for this very moment. Let it be a reminder that:

Life is like a journey on a train with its different stations and changes of routes.
At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believed they would always travel by our side.

However, at some point the train stops at a station and our parents will step down from the train, leaving us to go the rest of life’s journey alone. As time goes by, other people will board the train; like our, friends, and children as well as other family members and friends, and they will be significant in our life’s journey.

Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will leave so unnoticed that we don’t even realize that they vacated their seats!

This train ride is full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hello’s farewells and “see ya-later’s.” Success on the train consists of having a good relationship with your God and all the passengers that board your train. It requires us to give the best of ourselves. The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down from the train. So, we must live in the best way we know how, to love, forgive and offer the best of who we are. It’s important that we do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty, our desire is to leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life. Because just like the different routes, and stops along the way, it’s also representative of the different seasons in our lives.

Chucky has completed his season of life in the physical, he has stepped down from the train. But God, who is rich in mercy and whose timing was just right, was thinking about him before he was born.

As much pain as you may be experiencing today, after a season, it will lessen. Death did not defeat him because death was already defeated. I believe Chucky’s soul was sealed in Jesus Name.

So, it’s important that all of us get it right now while we have a chance, because when the time comes for us to step down from the train and leave our seat empty, while we want to leave loving memories, we must also keep in mind that the physical death is not the end of the story because, there is a “final destination!”

Lastly, and more importantly, I know if he could speak to you right now, he would thank God for his journey, wish you a joyful journey on the train of life, and he would certainly thank each one of you for being one of the passengers on his train.

    All For His Glory
    Prayerfully Submitted
