
Carol “Joan” Ginnever, 83, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Promedica Memorial Hospital. She was born on December 30, 1930 in Graytown, OH, the daughter of Carroll and Aubrey (Greer) Hesselbart. She was a 1948 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Joan married James F. Ginnever, Sr. on June 25, 1949 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Lindsey, OH and he survives. She was a Homemaker and worked part time in the kitchen at Fremont City Schools and Dumminger Photo.
Joan was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served as a Church Mouse and was a member of the Ohio Child Conservation League. She also volunteered at the Sandusky County Food Pantry. Joan enjoyed ceramics, cooking, needlepoint, bowling, gardening and spending time with her family.
Joan is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, James F. Ginnever, Sr.; children, Kathy Roosen, Karol (Scott) Ivy, Jim (Beth Meyer) Ginnever, Jr., Jon (Susie) Ginnever, Kay (Randy) Hoffman, all of Fremont, OH; Karen (Oscar) Arrizola, Raleigh, NC; brother, Frank “Sonny” (Donna Jean) Hesselbart, Maumee, OH; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Peggy Hoch; son-in-law, Rudy Roosen.
Visitation: Thursday from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Service: Friday, December 5, 2014, 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor James Avers officiating.
Memorials: Grace Lutheran Church or the Sandusky County Food Pantry.

You and your wife leave a wonderful legacy. I have memories of you from the 1950’s (I was probably 7 or 8 at the time), you and Joan were such kind people and I recognized it at an early age. After we moved from Fremont in 1959 I didn’t see you again until my aunt’s viewing (Mariam Karlovetz) and I recognized you two immediately (40+ years later). Proof that you two were “special”. I remember my mother coming to introduce us, but were were past that already!!
You now have two Joan’s watching over you and your family supporting you. God bless you.
