I knew Brian as B Hill. When getting my first job teaching and coaching he happened to be on the freshman football team i was working with. Big and lanky at that time and not very in control of those long limbs. Brian was an extremely coachable and personable young man so it’s no wonder i enjoyed working with him so much. I spent a lot of time over a four year period with Brian and came to know him well. He was soft spoken, loved to laugh and was always s a joy to be around. I know how much he will be missed by those close to him know and especially by his family and the close group of friends in Fremont that meant so much to him. Rest In Peace Brian. The world was a better place for having you in it. Coach B

I first met Brian at a local gym we both trained at about 15 years ago. Brian was one of the friendliest people around. I am a police officer and he worked corrections at the time. I remember when he was hired at Upper Arlington and how happy it made him. Due to differences in jobs and schedules, I only saw Brian occasionally at the gym. He was always quick with a smile and a handshake, fist bump, or quick manly hug. I only had the privilege to work with him a couple times over the years as his primary duty was patrol and mine was investigative in nature for another department.
I, like many in the field, don’t watch much news as it is filled with the tragedy that many of us face daily. I found out about Brian’s death only hours ago at the gym. I was stunned. It is a great loss to all his friends at the gym and already a memorial to him is being discussed to post on the wall. Brian’s death was also a great loss to his brothers and sisters in law enforcement.
In law enforcement we get to see the worst people at their worst, the best people at their worst, and more often than not our public encounters end up with someone not being happy. This wears on all of us but a price we pay. We pay because we care. What keeps us going is that we get to see the best people at their best; our fellow officers proudly serving!! Even so, we lose sight of this from time to time and the tribulations of our career wear on us heavily. We must never forget and always think of the people in our communities whose lives we may have changed and didn’t realize it. The speeding ticket that could have just prevented an accident, the arrest that saved an innocent person who doesn’t even know it, the lesson learned and the life changed for the better by an interaction with an officer. If only we could hear the voices of all these souls throughout our careers whose lives were changed for the better thanking us and telling us their story then our lives would be so much easier. But alas, we hear mostly ridicule.
We must remember those unheard voices, our brothers and sisters, and our family and friends who love us and are proud of what we do.
I truly wish Brian could have heard all those voices. From all his gym friends who treasured seeing him to the people of Upper Arlington he served with his big smile! We all have lost a wonderful man and we mourn for our loss, but what of Brian Brown? Heaven rejoices because because now God has a new warrior. Michael the Archangel ( patron of law enforcement ) now has command of Brian Brown, to stand beside other great warriors like himself, guarding the gates of Heaven.
Pam
Sending prayers and hugs to all Brian’s family and friends. B lit up the room with his fun personality and big smile. I will never forget you, B. ♥️

Danielle,
We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your brother Brian. My son Alex and I first met you when you were Alex’s academic advisor in OSU’s Fisher College of Business back in 2012 -2014. You welcomed me to attend Alex’s appointments with you, as he was trying to sort out what directions to take in school and life. You often mentioned your brother Brian, and how he followed his dream and was now a police officer in Upper Arlington. The love and pride you had for him shown through – as you spoke of him. Alex, my son, had mentioned that he was interested in law enforcement and you shared how your brother loved his career!
We live in UA , so often saw Brian as he was on patrol and always remembered he was your beloved brother. My heart ached when I heard of Brian’s passing and just wanted to let you know how sad we were for you and your family. Praying for Brian and you and your family that you find some comfort in your memories of times shared with Brian – and God’s love for you in this heartbreaking time. Fondly, Joni and Alex Teetor
