Bette Haas Whittaker

Bette Haas Whittaker, 76, of Fremont, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2021 at ProMedica Memorial Hospital.  She was born on April 19, 1945 in Fremont, OH the daughter of William and Marian (Baumer) Haas.  She was a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph High School.  Bette married John E. Whittaker on June 18, 1971 in Monroe, MI and he survives.  Bette was a loan officer at Clyde Findlay Credit Union for many years and then worked at Reardon Kolbe Szakovitz Accounting until she retired.

Bette enjoyed going to the casinos with her daughter, Shelly.  She also enjoyed spending time with the “L.C.” Girls, her lifelong friends.  Bette also loved to entertain and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Bette is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John E. Whittaker; her children Wenda (Christofer) Criswell, Shelly (Todd Brace) Whittaker, Justin Whittaker, Lisa (Jay) Hartley and Brandi (Tony Barnwell) Carter and bonus daughter Amber Root; grandchildren Ashleigh, Adam, Kristen, Cody, Cory, Aeriana, Logan, Jordon, Price and Macey Jane; great grandchildren Braylon, Brienne, Peyton, Kinsley, Luci and Gianna; siblings Patricia Durnwald, Marian “Beebe” Kindred, Sharon Beier, James Haas, William (Kathie) Haas and Lisa Druckenmiller.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Marian Haas.

Visitation: Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4-8pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St. Fremont, Ohio.

Services: Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00am at the funeral home

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, Ohio
