Beatrice M. James

Beatrice M. James, 76, of Fremont, OH passed away on May 7, 2022 at her home.  She was born on April 28, 1946 in Washington, LA the daughter of Mack Johnson and Emma James.  She was a graduate of Dunbar High School in Washington, LA.  Beatrice married Chester Gobert and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2021.   Beatrice was a homemaker and enjoyed singing, cooking and the outdoors.  She loved people who never met a stranger and had a great sense of humor.

Beatrice is survived by her children, Malcon (Andrea) James, Fremont and Detra Jones, Galveston, TX; grandchildren, Ashley James, Queshia Graves, Tanisha Simon, Malcom James, Aaron Gobert, Crystal Jones, Hezekiah Jones, Zackariah Jones and Genesis Whitaker; many great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Doris, Carl and Armond Hurd, Jr., Cynthia Netherly, Stanley and Cherry Young, Jackie Goynes, Charles “Squeaky” Hinton, Martha, Ray, Roy and Mary Victorian and devoted friend Gary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Mamie Hurd, Wilma Young, Lonnie Hinton, Arthur “Henry” James, Jr. and Lenny Victorian.

Visitation: Monday, May 16, 2022 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E State St., Fremont, OH.

Funeral ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 17 ,2022; 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
