
Barbara A. Willey, 84, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. She was born on March 30, 1938 in Sandusky to Sylvan and Leona (Faulhaber) Wahl. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Sandusky, OH. Barbara married Richard “Dick” H. Willey on February 7, 1959 in Sandusky, OH and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2018. Barbara worked at Croghan Colonial Bank in the check cashing department for many years until she retired. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and the Sandusky County Fairgrounds. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and attended many auto races with her husband. Barbara was very involved with her children and grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her children; Debbie (Jim) Sherman, Avon Park, FL, Lynn (Bill) Quick, Cheryl (Tim) Sweeney, R.J. (Dana) Willey, all of Fremont, OH, Brian (Deborah) Willey, Pelham, AL; brothers, Sylvan (Jean) Wahl, Jr. and Gary (Janet) Wahl, both of Sandusky; brother-in-law, James Willey; grandchildren, Betsy Quick, Ryan (Katie) Quick, Tim (Lydia) Sweeney, Jr., Amy Jo (Kevin)Trickett, Jake (Laura) Sweeney, Jennifer (Brandon) Hays, Zach Willey, Maddie St. Marie and McKenna Willey; ten great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard “Dick” H. Willey; brother, Donald Wahl and great granddaughter, Isabel Sweeney.
Visitation: Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420
Services will begin at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Private burial with take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont, OH
Memorials can be made in Barbara’s honor to Sacred Heart Church, 550 Smith Rd, Fremont, OH 43420
