Arthur D. Johnson
Arthur D. Johnson, 95, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Countryside Continuing Care Center. He was born on July 21, 1920 in Fremont, the son of George W. and Estella (Brandenburg) Johnson. He attended Fremont Ross High School.
Arthur served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the American Defense Ribbon; Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon; Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal.
Arthur married Ellen Stout in 1947 at Grace Lutheran Church. He worked at Whirlpool Corporation for over twenty-five years. Arthur was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont VFW and American Legion.
Arthur is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Ellen Johnson, Fremont, OH; children, Scott (Becky) Johnson, Howell, MI, Bruce (Jean) Johnson and Robin (Christine) Johnson both of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorthy Hetrick.
A Graveside Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015, 1:00 pm at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 1793 W. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410.
