
Alan “Big Al” C. Machin, 85, of Fremont, OH and Key Largo, FL passed away after a short illness on January 15, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born on September 8, 1935 in Brampton, Ontario, Canada the son of Douglas and Agnes (Clarke) Machin. He was a 1956 graduate of Port Credit High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering from Queens University in Kingston, Ontario.
Al married Lenore Jameson on August 1, 1958 in Inglewood, Ontario, Canada and she preceded him in death on January 27, 2009. He worked in Quebec and Ontario until he became the plant manager for Pfizer in Gibsonburg, OH. He then became the VP of Steetley Industries in Toronto, Ontario.
Al enjoyed traveling extensively around the world, visiting more than one hundred different countries, and loved spending time in the Florida Keys. The family would like to thank Dr. Hiestand and Heartland Hospice for their loving care of Al during his illness.
Al is survived by his children, Barry Machin, Nancicarol (Tom) Woleslagel, and Christy (Dan) Brudzinski all of Fremont; grandchildren, Bradley (Jordyn) Woleslagel, Christy (Fernando) Cortez, Cassie Woleslagel and Molly Brudzinski; great grandchildren, Eli, Xander and Emersyn; brother, Ross Machin, Ontario, Canada.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lenore Machin and brother, Bruce Machin.
A private service for the family was held.
Memorials can be made to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church or Donor’s Choice.
