Mary Ruth Barney

Mary Ruth Barney, 80, of Green Springs, OH passed away on November 7, 2014 surrounded by her family at her home. She was born on January 7, 1934 in Butler, IN the daughter of Charlie Edward and Margaret Caroline (Hubbard) Zimmerman.

Mary married Marvin Barney on December 7, 1957 in Butler, IN and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1998. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and reading. She lived at her home with her granddaughter, Sunshine Barney and her children Eli and Ty. Mary loved spending time with her family and loved children.

Mary is survived by her children, Rosemary Lea McSwain, Tiffin, April Marie (Michael) Workman of Florida, Marilyn Jean (Edward) Bryant, Old Fort, Cheryl Ann Murphy and Linda Sue (Bill) Graham both of Tiffin; siblings, Bob Zimmerman and Beatrice Green both of Butler, IN; sixteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Barney; son, Charles Martz and siblings, Wesley and Paul Zimmerman and Lucy McDonald; son-in-law, Dale McSwain.

Visitation: Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH.

Service: Wednesday, November 12, 2014; Noon at the funeral home with Certified Funeral Celebrant Susann Robitski Zimmerman officating.

Burial: Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort, OH
