Margaret M. Pert, 92, of Fremont, OH passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Countryside Continuing Care Center. She was born on October 28, 1921 in Fremont, the daughter of Anthony A. and Ellen L. (Reinbolt) Chudzinski. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School in 1939 and then attended the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota.
Margaret served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal and WAAC Service Ribbon. She was proud of her military service. That is where she met her husband, while they were both serving in North Africa.
Margaret married William G. Pert on March 5, 1946 in Fremont and he preceded her in death on June 8, 2008. She was a Homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards, knitting and cross word puzzles.
Margaret is survived by her children, Margaret (Floyd) Foust, Howell, MI, M. Susan (Carol Cullivan) Pert, Tuscon, AZ, Jean (Michael) Blechinger, Kenton, OH, Debra (Mark) Mosser, William (Melanie) Pert both of Fremont, OH, Ellen (Michael) Bohling, Sand Creek, MI, Elizabeth (Cliff) Nelson, Des Moines, WA; sister, Kathleen (Stanley) Root, Fremont, OH; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William G. Pert; son, Andrew Pert; sister, Lucille Miller; brothers, Vincent and Daniel Chudzinski; one infant granddaughter.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, January 11, 2014, 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH, with a luncheon to follow immediately after the service.
Burial will take place on Monday, January 13, 2014, 10:30 am at St. Joseph Cemetery.
