Loretta Hoffman

Loretta Hoffman, 88, of Fremont, OH passed away Friday October 30, 2015 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont. She was born July 16, 1927 in Gibsonburg, OH to Walter and Ellen (Hyland) O’Neill. Loretta was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School.

Loretta married Ralph L. Hoffman on May 8, 1948 at St. Ann Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on August 8, 2014. She was an Office and Title Clerk for the Sandusky County Court House retiring in 1988. Loretta was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church where she was involved with many groups. She was a Woman of the Moose member and in many bridge clubs. Loretta enjoyed volunteering her time at Memorial Hospital and watching golf and football, especially the Ohio State Buckeyes and Notre Dame. She also loved spending time with her family and friends on St. Patrick’s Day.

Loretta is survived by her children, Teresa Smith, Fremont, Diane (Steve) Pyle, Jasper, MI, Mark (Karla) Hoffman and John (Sue) Hoffman both of Fremont; sister, Helen Jadwisiak, Port Clinton; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph L. Hoffman; brothers, Lawrence, Walter, Henry and Al O’Neill; sisters, Kathleen Thompson and Teresa Masnado.

Visitation: Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, November 4, 2015; 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1021 W. State St., Fremont, OH with Fr. Michael Zacharias officiating.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery.
