Kenneth E. Chafin

Kenneth E. Chafin, 62, of Fremont, OH went Home to be with his Savior on Monday, January 25, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH. He was born May 3, 1953 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Tennis E. and Mary Maxine (Maynard) Chafin. He was a 1972 graduate of Logan High School in Logan, WV.

Ken married Gloria Dube on February 14, 2009 in Fremont and she survives. He first worked as a Hydraulic Repairman in the coal mines of West Virginia. After moving to Fremont he worked for Ludlow Composites and then worked as the Housekeeping Supervisor at Countryside Continuing Care Center.

Ken was a member of New Life Community Church in Fremont. He enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, playing drums, bowling, playing games and spending time with his family.

Ken is survived by his wife, Gloria Chafin, Fremont, OH; daughter, Chanda (Caesar) Mendoza, Gibsonburg, OH; son, Justin (Misty) Chafin, Helena, OH; grandchildren, Matthew, Filomena, McKenna and Gabriel Mendoza, all of Gibsonburg, OH, Nathaniel and Adon Chafin both of Helena, OH; former wife, Sharon Miller Chafin, Fremont, OH.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sherry Maynard and brother, Isom Dwayne Maynard.

Visitation: Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Service: Saturday, January 30, 2016; 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Ritter officiating.

Memorials: To the family or the Liberty Center.
