Kathryn M. Ash
Kathryn M. Ash, 84, of Fremont, OH passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Memorial Hospital. She was living at home until she passed away. Kathryn was born on October 8, 1929 in Fremont to Henry and Lucy (Wasserman) Kramer. She was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
Kathryn married John Robert Ash on May 7, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on February 3, 2003. Kathryn and John started Ash Automotive in 1953 where she worked until she retired in 1991.
Kathryn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and 8 et 40. She also worked the funeral luncheons at for St. Joseph Church. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, exercising, cooking, being outdoors, mowing the lawn and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Richard (Denise) Ash, Douglas (Krista) Ash, both of Fremont, OH, Christine M. (Jack) Kieffer, Bowling Green, OH, Philip (Hannelore) Ash, Oak Harbor, OH, Martha (John) Homan, Helena, OH, Carolyn Ash, Fremont, OH; siblings, Lawrence Kramer, Joseph Kramer, Thomas (Jeannie) Kramer, all of Fremont, OH, John (Luella) Kramer, Republic, OH, Elizabeth Essi, Lakewood, OH; thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Robert Ash; son, John Ash II; grandson, Scott Ash; brother, Charles Kramer and sister, Dorothy Keegan.
Visitation: Friday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, November 2, 2013, 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St, Fremont, OH with Fr. Michael Zacharias officiating.
Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont.
