Gretchen Nims Cronin, 87, of Linda Dr, Fremont, OH dearly loved by her family, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 at The OSU Ross Heart Hospital in Columbus, OH surrounded by her family. She was born on June 4, 1926 in Bellevue, OH, the daughter of John and Mildred (Sherman) Sweet. She attended Ohio Northern University.
Gretchen married William G. “Bill” Cronin on June 26, 1954 at St. Joseph Catholic Church and he survives. She was a Secretary and Production Clerk at H.J. Heinz Company and retired after twenty-three years of service. Gretchen had also worked for Whirlpool Corporation.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed her retirement golfing and playing bridge with many of her friends. Gretchen loved to travel near and far, with trips to Australia, China, and many cruises. She had a passion for games of all kinds and enjoyed traveling to the casinos.
Gretchen is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years, William G. “Bill” Cronin, Fremont, OH; daughters, Peggy (Philip) Havens, Findlay, OH, Pat Cronin, Arlington Heights, IL, Pam (Mike) Black, Monclova Twp, OH; grandchildren, Julie (Skip) Bourdo, Karen, Kelly and Jacob Havens, Emily, Evan and Erica Black; sister, Helen Cominsky, Fremont, OH; sister-in-law, Evelyn Sweet, Bellevue, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Joseph and John Sweet.
