Evan Joseph Smith, 7, of Fremont, OH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on November 2, 2007 in Toledo, the son of Joshua E. and Mindy (Hoffman) Smith.
Evan was a 1st Grade Student at Otis Elementary School and was a Yellow Belt at Hoffman Karate. He enjoyed playing video games and his IPod, swimming, and being with his family and friends. His favorite place to eat was Nagoya with his favorite chef “The Roc.” Evan was a very loving child with a contagious laugh. He was Dad’s best friend and Mommy’s baby and loved to hang out at his Dad’s Barber Shop.
Evan is survived by his parents, Joshua and Mindy Smith and twin sister, Elyse Smith all of Fremont, OH, sister, Mariah Smith, Gibsonburg, OH; grandparents, Karen (Mark) Wilkins, Port Clinton, OH, Mark (Lita Smith) Hoffman, Fremont, OH, Connie (Rob) Gratz, Sandusky, OH; great grandparents, Clyde White, Erma Smith both of Fremont, OH, Thelma Smith, Mt. Gilead, OH; aunts and uncles, Miranda, Cecily and Lilly Hoffman, Eric (Nicole) Smith, Tara (Jerry) Risner, Craig (Gail) Smith and Ryan Smith; special aunt, Eloise Starks and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Randal Smith; great grandparents, Ruth White, John Hoffman, Ron and Jane Pettys and Delmer Kiser.
Visitation: Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH
Service: Monday, March 23, 2015; 10:30 a.m. at Victory Church, 2051 Oak Harbor Rd, Fremont, with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service. Pastor James Lewis will officiate.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery
