Donald James Gries
Donald James Gries, 89, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015 at The Willows at Bellevue. He was born on March 4, 1925 in Fremont, the son of Charles and Ora (Havens) Gries. He was a graduate of Green Springs High School.
Don served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal and WWII Victory Medal. He married Marguerite E. Blodgett on January 26, 1947 in Clyde, OH and she survives. Don was a life-long farmer.
Don is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Maggie Gries; children, Donna (John) Supra, Charles (Peg) Gries, both of Fremont, OH, Nancy (Jeff) Reinhart, Huron, OH and grandson, Adam Gries.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Doris Mowrey.
A private service was already held.
