David E. Fitzgerald

David E. Fitzgerald, 50, of Fremont, OH passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, OH. He was born on December 24, 1966 in Toledo, OH to James F. and Phoebe (Powers) Fitzgerald. He was a 1985 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.

David served in the U.S. Airforce during the Gulf War from December 14, 1989 to March 20, 2003 and was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal with 4 bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award w/Valor with 2 bronze oak leaf clusters, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with 3 bronze oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 1 bronze service star, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Air Force Long Tour Ribbon with 1 bronze oak leaf cluster, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 2 bronze oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, Air Force Training Ribbon and Supply, Fuels Badge.

He enjoyed coin stamp collecting and homing pigeons.

David is survived by his sons, Timothy Roberts and James Earl Fitzgerald; mother, Phoebe Fitzgerald, Fremont, OH; brothers, Robert (Ronda) Fitzgerald, Fremont, OH and Doug Fitzgerald, Bowling Green, OH; nieces, Makeenah and Emmah Fitzgerald.

He was preceded in death by his father, James F. Fitzgerald.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.

Private Burial will take place at McGormley Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
