Darlene Mae Obermeyer
Darlene Mae Obermeyer, 76, of Fremont, OH passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. She was born on February 9, 1939 in Fremont, the daughter of Robert and Mardell Mae (Wisbon) Cockrell. She was raised by Glen and Mil Cockrell. Darlene was the 1957 Valedictorian of her graduating class at Green Springs High School.
Darlene married Donald “Peck” L. Obermeyer in September, 1975 in Rocky Ridge, OH and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2003. She worked at the Fremont Employment Office for over twenty-five years where she retired. Darlene previously enjoyed bowling with the Green Springs League and watching sprint cars.
Darlene is survived by her son, Jim Brunthaver, Fremont, OH; adopted brother, Norman (Betty) Cockrell, Fremont, OH; grandchildren, Ashley (Grant) Hesselbart, North Ohmstead, Cody Brunthaver, Fremont, OH; nieces and caregivers, Sandy Yohe and Terry Cockrell both of Fremont, OH; granddog, pearl.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald “Peck” L. Obermeyer and beloved dog, Sammie.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015, from 2 – 4 pm at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH.
