Catherine E. Creager

Catherine E. Creager, 94, of Green Springs, OH passed away at her daughter and son-in law’s home on Thursday, November 21, 2013. She has now gone to be with her great granddaughter, Taylor Norman. She was born January 7, 1919 in Sandusky County, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Gahn) Hammer.

Catherine married James M. Creager on January 28, 1967 in Fremont, OH and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1985. She was a Homemaker and member of Green Springs United Methodist Church. Catherine was also a member of VFW Post #6067 Ladies Auxiliary. She owned and operated Rigby’s Restaurant in Green Springs for over twenty years. She enjoyed baking, fishing, playing cards and sewing.

Catherine is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Montgomery, Green Springs, OH, Thomas (Esther) Rigby, Sun City, AZ; sister, Hazel Schrock, Green Springs, OH; grandchildren, Lori (Ken) Davis, Cheri (Paul) Hohenstein, Johnny (Rhonda) Montgomery, Tom, Lesa and Kelly Rigby, Jesslyn Hohenstein, Heidi (Derek) Foreman, Jeremy (Katelyn) Hohenstein; great grandchildren, Kyle Davis, Jacob Norman, Alec and Nathan Montgomery, Bo Foreman, Max and Ace Waterfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James M. Creager; brothers, Theodore, Wilson and Johnny Hammer; sisters, Anna Messinger, Genieve Nickloy; great granddaughter, Taylor Norman.

Visitation: Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N. Broadway St, Green Springs, OH.

Service: Tuesday, November 26, 2013, Noon, at the funeral home with Pastor Christine Tobergte officiating.

Burial: Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde, OH

Memorials: Green Springs United Methodist Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
