Carolina A. Chavez

Carolina A. Chavez, 75, of Elmore, OH passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 at the University Toledo Medical College. She was born on October 26, 1937 in Hamlin, TX to Benjamin and Carolina (Ureste) Avalos.

Carolina married Guadalupe H. Chavez in 1959 in Weslaco, TX and he preceded her on March 25, 2013. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Carolina enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She was loved by so many and her doors were opened to everyone.

Carolina is survived by her children, Juan (Luisa) Gomez, Eufemio (Irma) Gomez both of Texas, Guadalupe (Bill) Below, Marta (Jose Arreola) Dominguez both of Fremont, OH; Rafael (Belinda) Chavez, Woodville, OH, Roberto (Monica) Chavez, Elmore, OH, Juan M. (Columba) Chavez, Fremont, OH, Graviel (Sara) Chavez, Elmore, OH, Jesus Chavez, Fremont, OH; brother, Juan Villapando of California; twenty grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guadalupe H. Chavez; daughter, Maria Oranday; an infant daughter, Virginia Chavez and grandson, Guadalupe Jose Ysasi Chavez.

Visitation: Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 3:30 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH 43420.

Mass of Christian Burial: October 21, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 709 Croghan St., Fremont, OH with Fr. Mike Zacharias officiating.

Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
