Thomas J. Horvath
President

Tom is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, as well as a Licensed Preneed Insurance Agent, with an Associate Degree from the University of Toledo. Tom is a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, and has over 35 years experience in funeral service. After a tour of duty in Vietnam as a Sergeant in the US Army, he first gained experience as a funeral director at the Joseph R. Baker Funeral Home in Middletown. Active in professional and community affairs, he is a member of:

Helene Horvath-Zielinski, CPC
Vice President/Treasurer

With Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Toledo, and postgraduate work at Miami University and Bowling Green, Helene is responsible for the management of Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home & Crematory.

She is a Licensed Funeral Director, Licensed Preneed Insurance Agent, Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC), and Certified Bereavement Facilitator. Helene has held positions as Administrator at Gibsonburg Health Care Center, Laurel Health Care in Columbus, and Director of Human Resources at St. Francis Health Care in Green Springs.

Her community involvement includes speaking to many groups on issues related to death and dying and serving as a member of:

Scott K. Hanes, CPC
Secretary

Scott joined us in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. He also holds an Associate in Specialized Technology degree from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Throughout his college-level studies, Scott gained valuable experience as a student associate at several funeral homes in Pennsylvania. He is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer, Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC), Certified Crematory Operator, as well as a Licensed Preneed Insurance Agent.

Gwendolyn (Fisher) Coffee
Family Service Advisor,  Licensed Funeral Director
 

Gwen served her apprenticeship as a funeral director/embalmer with owner Tom Horvath.  She graduated from Terra State Community College in 2003 with an Associate’s Degree in Art. She graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2005.  She received her Ohio licenses in 2009. Gwen has attended the Insurance Preplanning Advisor Training. She is also a Licensed Embalmer, Licensed Preneed Insurance Agent, Certified Preplanning Consultant (CPC), Member of the National Funeral Director Association (NFDA) and Member of the Ohio Funeral Director Association (OFDA)

Gwen is responsible for initial contact with families, and assisting with at need and pre need arrangements, as well as, monument sales.

Joyce Wickert,
After Care Specialist

Joyce is responsible for our Families In Transition program to assist families after the death of a loved one.  After a funeral service, Joyce visits with families to address any unanswered questions and provide additional information on grief support resources.  Support sheets and loss pamphlets help families understand and cope with the grief process.
